"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest." -Benjamin Franklin
At Uganda Tree of Life Ministries, we believe in educating the whole child. We seek to not only nourish intellectual curiosities, but spiritual curiosities as well. This holistic approach drives the way our students are educated, academically and spiritually. Proverbs 22:6 says "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." This is our goal for all children who come into contact with our ministry. We seek to form dedicated lifelong scholars and followers of Christ who seek to glorify Him in all things.
All of our sponsored students will receive an education starting with P1 (equivalent to kindergarten) which teaches the fundamentals of reading, mathematics and social studies. Students learn in English and also are taught Swahili. For those who live far away and are unable to return home daily, room and board is available.
A guaranteed meal everyday is a luxury not all Ugandans have. All of our sponsored children receive at least two meals a day to ensure the proper nourishment they need to be successful in school.
A standard school uniform includes: shirt and pants for boys, dress for girls, sweater and shoes. Children often do not have shoes so receiving new shoes is a very special occasion.
All sponsored students receive medical care from our medical clinic in Idudi. If a child is ill, they have the access and means to receive appropriate intervention. Thankfully, the New Life Ministries has a water well with clean water and adequate sanitation facilities, so the need for medicine is declining.
Our New Life Ministries partners in Uganda are a church family in addition to a school, so many of our students get to go to church where they go to school! All teachers are believers and integrate Christian teachings into their daily lessons and curriculum.
